What we become through the journey
Ascension represents what we become through the journey. Its sculptural forms rise dramatically upward, evoking sails, wings, and the movement beyond what has already been endured. At its center, candlelight gathers around the people who have travelled together — carrying their stories, memories, and hopes. What began as a passage through uncertainty becomes transformation: the strength to rise, to grow, and to begin again.
Black obsidian and red jasper form the grounding elements within Ascension. Traditionally associated with protection, strength, grounding, and endurance, these stones represent the resilience carried through the passage — the strength of the people who have endured uncertainty and emerged changed, yet firmly rooted in who they are.
Each piece is inherently one of a kind. Variations in texture, form, crystal placement, and finish are part of the character of the work and reflect the hand of the artist.
The PASSAGE - Ascension
The LUMINESA process
Sculptural Candlescapes transforming fabric and concrete into vessels and forms. Each artwork is individually created by hand using cloth saturated in concrete, shaped, manipulated, plastered, and then painted. A centrepiece arrangement is carefully designed and constructed with natural crystals drawn from the earth's landscape, accompanied by illuminating tealights.
