Surge captures the moment when the sea rises — a powerful, unpredictable wave surrounding those who have already travelled so far. Its towering forms evoke the force of the water and the fear that can accompany the unknown. Within the vessel, the gathering remains.

Within Surge, blue kyanite, sodalite, and pyrite represent the gathering of people aboard the boat — their individual lives united as they face the immense force of the wave. Together, they embody strength, protection, and the resilience found in community.

Each piece is inherently one of a kind. Variations in texture, form, crystal placement, and finish are part of the character of the work and reflect the hand of the artist.

The LUMINESA process

Sculptural Candlescapes transforming fabric and concrete into vessels and forms. Each artwork is individually created by hand using cloth saturated in concrete, shaped, manipulated, plastered, and then painted. A centrepiece arrangement is carefully designed and constructed with natural crystals drawn from the earth's landscape, accompanied by illuminating tealights.
